- Waterfall Gunns Lowe Architects was formed in early 2011, and is the amalgamation of the talents and skills of Matthew Waterfall, Hamish Gunns and Kit Lowe. The office is committed to delivering intelligently conceived and well executed projects.
Based in Auckland, projects are in urban, suburban, rural and beach settings across New Zealand. We look to the particularities of each project, its program, budget, physical and cultural contexts, to identify the most important issues to which the architecture responds. We bring a public mindedness to the work, with each project considered within its broader contemporary environment, its impact on the public domain, sustainability, infrastructure and landscape.
Matthew Waterfall has high quality design experience in Residential, Commercial and Healthcare projects gained both in New Zealand and abroad. He is a Registered Architect and NZIA member
Hamish Gunns has recently joined the practice after extensive experience overseas, working with Zaha Hadid and Future Systems amongst other highly regarded UK practices. Hamish brings with him a raft of experience in housing, landscaping, retail design and masterplanning both in New Zealand and abroad. He is a Registered Architect.
Kit Lowe brings years of experience in high-end residential and multi-residential architecture in both New Zealand and abroad. This includes 4 years experience in the high end of the London market and 6 years in New Zealand working alongside some of our most well regarded Architects on award winning projects.
